Brinskele: I was just going to say, we’re going to go a little longer for questions because I really want to say thank you all for coming. In this room alone, and this is a West Hollywood/LA-area thing, almost everyone in this room has done something really significant in the LGBT movement, and I want to commend you all. I recognize a lot of you and have studied you in the archives, just want to let you know.

Audience member: Hi Lillian. First of all, I want to thank you for doing this book.

Faderman: Thank you.

Audience member: I’d like to see it as an encyclopedia in every school across the nation because I know the hours you spent researching this book, and you don’t do it from your opinion, you do it from plain fact, and I really appreciate that

Faderman: Thank you.

Audience member: Really [unclear]. I don’t care it’s called The Gay Revolution because we need to change some consciousness. We really do. You know, these kids have been raised by us feminists and they’re not fighting. They’re not fighting. So if we’ve raised some consciousness I don’t care if it’s man on the moon, for me, that’s what will change it. That’s what’s going to stop the bullying and the battering and all the BS. So I’m glad you’re going to go on and be specific, but, I’m just so proud of you and I really want you to know, thank you, because I know what it took to do this.

Faderman: Thank you.

Audience member: Love you!

[applause]
