From the Archivist's Desk - Week of June 9th, 2025
This week I have been working on processing the Betty Jetter collection. The archive has poems and letters from Betty that were donated years ago but we recently were gifted with the rest of her collection. It has been wonderful looking through Betty’s memorabilia from her life and reading the letters and poems her and a former partner, Joy, wrote to each other. This collection will soon be available to the public.
I was also able to attend ONE Institute’s panel, Perspectives on Local Drag. It was wonderful being able to hear drag queens and drag kings talk about West Hollywood drag then and now and to meet the iconic Mo B. Dick!
The One Institute poster for their exhibit at the ONE Gallery called “It’s Where I Belong”.
The June L Mazer Lesbian Archive’s Mellon intern, Sam Stroud, had her last week with us. We know she will still be around in more than one capacity and we have enjoyed every day that she has given us her time and energy! Congratulations Sam on graduating from UCLA’s MLIS program!
