From the Archivist's Desk Week of May 5th, 2025

This week the Mazer celebrated queer elders with Dr. Marie Cartier’s Queer Studies class at CSUN. Angela and I attended their final presentations where they showcased a queer elder they had conducted an oral history with. Each student created a piece of art to honor their subject. These oral histories will be stored at the Mazer for anyone to listen to.

Fun find of the week: a drag kings cover of Curve Vol 13. No.3, 2003 including a feature on Drag Kings in LA. Drag kings are an underrepresented subject in our collections that we hope to expand in the future!
