From the Archivist's Desk - Week of April 21st, 2025

This week I worked on further processing the Curve Magazine collection. This processing project has been a part of two Rainin Foundation Grants the Mazer has received. It has been my pleasure to finish this project. I hope the organizational records will be a source of resource and inspiration for historians, students, and anyone hoping to maybe one day start up a successful Lesbian magazine.

New finding aid alerts! Our volunteer, Katie Crawford, completed processing the Patricia Lamis collection and the finding aid can be found here: https://mazerlesbianarchives.libraryhost.com/repositories/2/resources/24

Visitors! We were visited by Michelle Caswell’s UCLA Community Archives class on Tuesday. These students learned about our archive and looked through our collections.

Image from the archive: Last week’s project was rehousing VHS tapes from the Rosser Goodman Collection. These are now stored in archival boxes and a volunteer created an inventory of them. They will be added to the Rosser Goodman collection finding aid and select tapes will be digitized at the UCLA Media Preservation Lab.
